Cargo Surveys and Marine Cargo Claims Investigations
History:
Founded in April 1993 as "Albert Rizzo Inspection Services" (ARIS), an independent marine cargo surveyor predominately attending to surveyor-to-surveyor cargo surveys including cargo claims surveys/investigations; containerized cargo damage investigations, load/discharge surveys; and vessel outturn surveys in the Great Lakes Ports of Chicago, Milwaukee, & Burns Harbor, IN. A.R.I.S. Marine Surveyors was reinstated in May 2010 in the Columbia River Ports of Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR. In January 2019, the company became ARIS Marine Surveyors, LLC.

Utilizing over 30+ years of cargo surveying experience to provide the best service at a reasonable price with a focus on quick response, quality reporting, and best use of technology to keep our clients informed in a timely manner.

A.R.I.S. Marine Surveyors is based out of Vancouver, WA (USA) regularly attending to cargo claims throughout the Pacific Northwest, and occasionally into sea ports of Alaska and western Canada as well as inland mountain state destinations.
Albert Rizzo, proprietor and principal cargo surveyor, of A.R.I.S. Marine Surveyors, LLC, has been surveying cargo and investigating cargo losses since 1987. Over the course of those years he has represented cargo underwriters, cargo importers/exporters, owner's/charterer's P&I, salvors, and various large and small survey companies.
Albert is experienced with many types of cargoes, including steel products (flat roll, structural, wire rod, merchant steel); wind energy, gas/oil energy, mining, agricultural and industrial food industry machinery and/or project related cargoes; High/Wide/Heavy Loads; Technology cargoes; frozen/fresh food cargoes, and more.
We regularly investigate cargo claims of all types for interested parties to determine cause, nature and extent of loss. We conduct Loss control surveys for various parties including facility inspections, operational/procedural reviews, and packaging surveys. We also conduct pre-load/pre-shipment, loading, transloading, and discharge cargo surveys of various shipments carried by land, sea, or air. Our services now include CSC re-inspections of shipper owned containers.
